Dwell Design & Drive Presented by Lincoln
An Exclusive Design & Drive Event Presented by Lincoln and Dwell at the Los Altos Neutra House.
Ticket holders of the Dwell Silicon Valley Home Tours and their guests are invited to help raise money for Architecture for Humanity by test-driving a NEW Lincoln vehicle.
Guests are invited to mingle with the design-loving crowd; meet architects and designers from homes on the tour; sample fine, chef-prepared cuisine; participate in an educational docent tour of the Neutra House (pictured above); experience a full-scale Connect:Homes prefab prototype (pictured below); and raise money for Architecture for Humanity by test-driving a NEW Lincoln.
When anyone 21 or older with a valid driver’s license test drives a Lincoln vehicle on November 4, Lincoln will donate $25 to Dwell Home Tours non-profit partner Architecture for Humanity for providing sustainable design solutions to the global community. Each test drive will last about 7 to 10 minutes. You don’t have to be a Dwell San Diego Home Tour ticket-holder to participate. The event is open to the public. However, RSVP is requested, as space is limited.
- Enjoy bonus architectural tours; both a docent-lead educational tour of the historic Los Altos Neutra House and a self-guided tour of a full-scale ConnectHomes prefab residence
- Mingle with the architects, designers and contributors responsible for the private homes on that day’s tour
- Test-drive a new Lincoln and help raise additional funds for Architecture for Humanity
- Experience and learn from Blue Heron experts about the flavors of their delicious cuisine
SUPPORT ARCHITECTURE FOR HUMANITY
Since 1999, Architecture for Humanity has been putting Architects in service of those communities who need them most. After disaster strikes, AfH uses its expansive network of contacts to get well-designed buildings built – and fast. Today, AfH has built over 2,000 structures that have positively impacted about 2 million people worldwide.
Co-founders Kate Stohr and Cameron Sinclair also run design competitions, manage the Open Design Network, WorldChanging, and have published the best-selling books “Design Like You Give a Damn” and “Design Like You Give A Damn ”. Together, and with the Architects who work for them, they are redefining the role of Architecture and Design: to truly make an impact on our world.
